EGTRRA

On June 7, 2001, President George W. Bush signed into law the Economic Growth and Tax Relief Reconciliation Act of 2001 (EGTRRA).  The Act includes a significant number of changes that affect retirement plans, including IRAs.  Most of these changes are favorable to both plan sponsors and participants alike.  In addition, many of the changes are either effective in 2002 or are phased-in beginning in 2002.  The attached chart compares the new provisions with the law.
